Working people can't afford to wake up to a Tory Government on 8th May

Ian Lavery responds to tonight's Battle for Number 10

David Cameron has already cemented his legacy as the Tory Prime Minister who saw unprecedented numbers forced to rely on food banks to feed their families - all while millionaires enjoyed a tax cut.

And now we have just seen for ourselves that the choice we face at the election couldn't be clearer.

Tonight Ed Miliband made a stand for working people by showing that tackling zero hour contracts, addressing the cost of living crisis, defending public services - like our NHS - and freezing energy bills are top priorities of a Labour Government.

For these reasons and so many more, working people simply cannot afford to wake up to a Tory Government on 8th May and now it is up to us to make sure that that doesn't happen.
